We are pleased to announce that we have been commissioned by The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales to document the lived experiences of older people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities in Wales.
The lived experiences of older people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities remains mostly un-evidenced and without this evidence older people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities and the issues affecting their lives are rendered invisible.
We want to know more about the issues and challenges that are being faced, as well as the positive experiences of growing older.
We welcome participation particularly from people aged 59 years and above. The knowledge and understanding gained from the discussion will inform the work of the Commissioner over the next few years.
We are hosting social activities every Wednesday in September to.
1. Create a safe and friendly atmosphere to socialize, relax, and discuss your experiences as an older person.
2. Learn about the perceived gaps in the experiences of older people.
The discussions will be recorded for internal use only, and findings will be detailed in a final report. Please note, all comments are confidential, and no comments or details will be attributed to any individual in the final report.
