Why You Should Sign-Up  

   

• As stated above, mentoring allows you to network with aspiring young writers and professionals who will one day be colleagues

• Mentoring provides a service opportunity for you or your institution.

• Mentoring allows you to meet new writers outside of your geographic area and possibly direct your area of writing interest.

• It’s an opportunity to support diversity and inclusion, especially from the Black, Asian, and other Minority Ethnic groups.

 

 

Anybody can network and establish relationships with other attendees at the conference. However, sometimes making first contact can be daunting and it can be hard to find serious students. Participating as a mentor assures you, you’ll make the strong connections necessary to foster mentorship. If the fit is right, and you are willing, this can also serve as an opportunity to meet a long-term mentee.

 

There will be at least one large event during the project billed to hold in Cardiff.  At this event, mentors will also meet with other mentees not directly assigned to them, and mentors involved in the program.

Expectations            

Mentors will be required to:

• Try to participate in a weekly group mentoring session (virtual or in person).

• Be responsive and engaged with mentees.

• Reach out to mentees first once match notifications are received.

• Submission Deadline: December 15th, 2022.

• Match Notification: Feb 20th, 2023
